Short Guide

Aspiring Mangaka (Charles Bernard) is a character that is usually used in defensive tactics and counterattacks.
Mangaka uses the G-Spear and can also temporarily place so-called ink markers on the opponent. These markers act as a tool to predict the opponent's next move. Based on the information about your opponent's actions, you can conduct a counterattack that is very effective.
Charles' basic kit includes Sacrilege (recommended for breaking through enemy blocks) and Despair. But for example, counter Eye Catching gives him a huge delay in animation when he misses.
After playing Charles for a fair amount of hours, it’s safe to say that given he isn't the most powerful character and relies on counter-attacks, 85 HP is simply not enough. Constantly missing every game.
Charles is often defeated, but in fact they call him one of the most difficult opponents due to his tactical actions. If you can play for him, he's really hard to kill.
We do not advise you to underestimate him and because of this, fight him straightforwardly - you may fall under his counterattack, which will be successful because you went at him.
Against Mangaka, we recommend using feint combos (for example, two M1 attacks, pause, block), baiting him into using Eye Catching, and then unleashing a full series of M1 combos during his recovery. At this moment, he is defenseless.
If you are unlucky and Charles has placed a marker on you, step back on the defensive. We recommend playing a defensive game until the marker expires.
